Mariupol Mayor Ivan Fedorov reported the information.
"The occupiers of Melitopol are unlucky with their equipment - it wears out quickly. According to the updated information, tonight's explosion destroyed an enemy locomotive in the locomotive depot," the statement reads.
Fedorov said that Russian troops use this equipment to transport fuel to the frontline.
The mayor highlighted that this is the second diesel locomotive in the last two months that has "prematurely broken down."
In the evening, on June 11, Russian authorities reported explosions in the temporarily occupied Tokmak and Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region.
