Russian army continues offensive in Bakhmut, Avdiivka directions - Ukrainian General Staff

This is reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff. 

"Invading Russian forces are trying to hold the temporarily seized territories, are concentrating their efforts on attempts to disrupt the active actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in certain directions, and do not stop attempts to conduct offensive actions in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions. The Russian enemy is regrouping its army units in certain directions," the report says.

During the day, October 5, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Air Force launched more than ten strikes against the Russian forces. Damage to 9 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, as well as 2 anti-aircraft missile systems of the Russian enemy, was confirmed. Air defense shot down 7 enemy drones. 6 of them were of Iranian production.

Ukrainian missile forces and artillery hit 2 control points, 12 areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, as well as 10 other important enemy facilities.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces' units repelled Russian attacks in the areas of Vyimka, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Maiorsk, and Novomykhailivka.
