Russian and Belarusian defense ministers sign protocol on "ensuring regional security"

On December 3, during a meeting in Minsk, Russian Defense Minister Serhii Shoigu and Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin signed a protocol on amendments to the agreement on "ensuring regional security"

It is noted that Shoigu flew to Minsk to discuss issues of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation. Subsequently, Shoigu and Khrenin signed a protocol on amendments to the agreement on "ensuring regional security".

The Belarusian publication Nasha Niva notes that the contents of these changes made to the protocol are currently not disclosed.

During the meeting, Shoigu also noted that relations with Belarus have now "acquired special importance" and praised Belarus' readiness to "jointly ensure the military security of the Union State".
