Russia votes in favour of resolution condemning it for neo-Nazism
Russian Ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya voted in favour of the UN resolution on the fight against neo-Nazism in the world, which condemns Russia itself
Sergiy Kyslytsya, Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN, informed on the situation on Twitter.
Kyslytsya noted that since 2005, Russia has been putting to the vote a manipulative resolution on combating neo-Nazism in the world. This year, an amendment was made to the resolution stating that the Russian Federation tried to justify a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on purported basis of eliminating neo-Nazism.
New low for russia in UN: manipulative Res on neo-Nazism as amended now notes with alarm that Russia has sought to justify its territorial aggression against Ukraine on purported basis of eliminating neo-Nazism. Practically all WW2 anti-Nazi coalition, all EU, voted against Res. pic.twitter.com/HDulrgzdqR

"Today Russia has played itself: we inserted an amendment into their own resolution which reads "The Russian Federation has sought to justify its territorial aggression against Ukraine on purported basis of eliminating neo-Nazism." A dark day for the Russian Federation at the UN," Kyslytsya wrote.
Russia's ambassador to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, voted for the text of the resolution with this amendment. The text itself contains the following: "The Russian Federation has sought to justify its territorial aggression against Ukraine on purported basis of eliminating neo-Nazism and underlines that the pretextual use of neo-Nazism to justify territorial aggression seriously undermines genuine attempts to combat neo-Nazism."
