Zelenskyy: Ukraine, U.S. to meet in Saudi Arabia on March 24
President Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian and U.S. technical teams will meet in Saudi Arabia on Monday, March 24
He made this statement during a joint press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
"We have received signals from the United States that we are talking about the ceasefire on energy facilities, so not to attack energy infrastructure, and we are also talking about the civilian infrastructure facilities,” Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy emphasized that he wants to avoid any misunderstandings about the agreements reached. He clarified that the meetings will focus on a single topic: the U.S. with Ukraine and the U.S. with Russia.
"Or, hopefully, the sides will reach an agreement at the next meeting, which will take place on Monday in Saudi Arabia. Our technical teams will be there. As I understand, the structure is such that there will be a meeting between Ukraine and the U.S., followed by a meeting between the U.S. and Russia. Or these meetings may run in parallel in the same country, focusing on the same topic I mentioned," he explained.
- On March 11, the Ukrainian and American delegations met in Jeddah, following which Kyiv agreed to a 30-day ceasefire with Russia, and the United States agreed to immediately resume intelligence sharing and security assistance.
