Zelenskyy, Meloni weigh potential venues for Russia talks
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call on May 20 with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, and called the conversation “a good one”

Zelenskyy wrote about this on social media.
He said that he discussed with Meloni his recent conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump and European leaders.
“We are coordinating our positions. Italy supports all efforts for a genuine peace. We agreed to stay in contact regarding our next steps,” Zelenskyy added.
He also said that, together with the Italian prime minister, they discussed possible platforms for talks with the Russians.
“A ceasefire is needed to save human lives. Honest diplomacy is needed. Ukraine is ready, and it is necessary to ensure Russia’s readiness to truly end the war,” emphasized the President of Ukraine.
