Zelenskyy hands South African President list of 400 Ukrainian children abducted by Russia
On April 24, South African President received from Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky a list of 400 children illegally taken to Russia
Zelenskyy shared the news via Telegram:
"Today, I handed President Cyril Ramaphosa a list of 400 Ukrainian children who are currently being held in Russia against their will."
He emphasized that Russia has abducted tens of thousands of children from temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories and is also holding thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians in inhumane conditions. Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s determination to bring them all home.
"South Africa is a co-leader in the global coalition for returning abducted Ukrainian children. I hope President Cyril Ramaphosa will help us bring them back," the President added.
As a reminder, Zelenskyy canceled part of his visit to South Africa following Russia’s overnight missile attack on April 24.
