"Zelenskyy desperately orders to strike at Russian peaceful cities" — Russian fake news
Russian propaganda has launched a fake that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is desperate to order attacks on peaceful cities in Russia
This was reported by the Centre for Strategic Communication.
"Kyiv needs an escalation of the conflict to get help from its allies, so President Zelenskyy ordered the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike at civilian infrastructure in Russia," the propaganda channels write.
In fact, as the Centre for Strategic Communication notes, no such orders or instructions have been issued by Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The troops are tasked with liberating the Ukrainian territories captured by the Russian occupation forces.
At the same time, dictator Vladimir Putin is ordering to bomb Ukrainian cities and homes with Ukrainian civilians.
"To limit Russia's ability to wage war against Ukraine, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are also working to deprive the terrorist country of access to natural resources (oil and gas), destroy its defense industry, military infrastructure, bases, and warehouses with equipment and weapons," the statement said.
The legal targets for strikes on Russian territory are oil depots, gas storage facilities, and research institutions that contribute to Putin's “special military operation". But not residential buildings with civilians.
"The blame for the deaths of Russian civilians lies solely with the air defense forces and the Russian president," the Centre for Strategic Communication writes.
- The Centre for Strategic Communication has also discovered that Russians have created a Facebook page with a million followers that spreads lies about Ukraine.
