Zaluzhnyi's team denies reports of UK Ambassador's imminent resignation
Valerii Zaluzhnyi's team, who currently serves as Ukraine's Ambassador to the UK, denied information about the possibility of him leaving the diplomatic service as early as January
Zaluzhnyi's media advisor, Oksana Torop, stated this in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda.
"As always, unnamed sources know everything about Zaluzhnyi and his plans. But nothing has changed. He continues to defend Ukraine's interests as ambassador to the UK," she emphasized.
Earlier, Radio NV, citing sources close to the President's Office, reported that Zaluzhnyi had informed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of his intention to resign several weeks ago during his stay in Kyiv.
"He and the president discussed various positions for Zaluzhnyi, from prime minister to head of the President's Office, but he showed no interest at the time," the publication's sources note.
Other sources reported that for some time, the former Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief considered the possibility of working as ambassador to the United States or returning to the position of Commander-in-Chief, but no decisions have been made on this matter so far. At the same time, according to them, the question of changing Ukraine's ambassador to the United States is not currently on the table.
"Zaluzhnyi likely wants to return to Kyiv; he may announce this as early as January 4-5 of next year, unless something influences his decision," one source reported.
On November 20, Valerii Zaluzhnyi spoke about what victory in the war means for Ukraine and what political goal the country is setting for itself.
