Ukraine's Air Force spokesman tells what allows downing Russian planes
For the fourth consecutive day, Russian long-range radar detection and control aircraft A-50 have been absent from the sky, easing the handling of Russian aircrafts
RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to the spokesman for the Air Force of Ukraine, Yuriy Ihnat, during a telethon.
"It's been four days since the A-50 has been in the sky. The occupiers are coming to the conclusion that there is no point in roaming around our Azov Sea. Thus, they have moved away. It is clear that the enemy receives less information about our radar stations and air defense systems that emit radiation. The enemy records the latter with the help of airborne radar, which is the A-50," said Ihnat.
According to the Air Force spokesperson, the A-50 enables the enemy to monitor air targets, including our pilots conducting daily strikes against terrorists, in real-time within our country's airspace.
"Therefore, the importance of the A-50's disappearance, even temporarily, is a good sign for us. Perhaps it even helps to some extent to practice our means against Russian aircraft. The reduction of those aircraft (A-50s - ed.) is definitely a positive thing," the Air Force spokesman said.
