General Mykola Malomuzh, former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (2005-2010), shared insights on this matter during an interview on Espreso TV.
"We are well aware of the enemy's strategic plans. They have long intended to increase their mobilized forces to 300,000. We observe various mobilization measures underway. While 300,000 troops is a sizable force, it is not a critical concern for us. The Russian Federation will only manage to replenish its losses with those mobilized troops who will be withdrawn due to inefficiency," he stated.
General Malomuzh outlined potential directions for Russian offensives.
"The Russians may initiate offensives in areas like Kupyansk, Svatove-Kreminna, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and currently Novopavlivka and the Zaporizhzhia regions, where they are actively probing and attempting attacks to prepare for future offensives. A significant breakthrough could occur in one of these areas. However, we closely monitor all enemy movements, including strategic planning and reserve preparations. We observe their troop movements, armament, and identify potential involvement in tactical and strategic operations, maintaining readiness. The Russians have factored in Ukraine's ammunition shortages, but we have made preparations and are addressing this issue," he added.
