Belgium to allocate €100 million to Ukraine for F-16 maintenance
The Belgian Council of Ministers has approved the allocation of €100 million in military aid to Ukraine for the maintenance of F-16 combat aircraft. This was announced by Belgian Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
Belgium is one of 13 member states of the F-16 coalition, led by the Netherlands, Denmark and the United States.
"We have already started to train Ukrainian technical specialists for operational maintenance of the F-16 fleet, and our participation in the education and training of future pilots of this advanced and high-tech aircraft takes place in Denmark," the minister said.
Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy Russian vehicles with infantry near Novomykhailivka
Soldiers of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault brigade near Novomykhailivka destroyed Russian equipment and a group of infantry that tried to storm the town. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has published a video.
"The enchanting destruction of Russian equipment with infantry and ammunition - this is how Russian occupiers ended another attempt to storm the 79th Brigade's positions near Novomykhailivka," the General Staff said.
The armored coalition already includes 15 countries
Poland's Ministry of Defense has reported that 15 countries are currently part of the armored coalition to support Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
Warsaw initiated the Armoured Vehicle Coalition in January within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (the so-called Ramstein format), which includes almost 50 participants.
"The purpose of these actions is to ensure the proper scale, pace and closer coordination of military support provided to Ukraine in the field of armored and mechanized vehicles," the Polish Ministry of Defense said.
The Polish Ministry of Defense notes that as part of the efforts to create this coalition, a number of meetings were held and agreements were reached with allies who plan to further support Ukraine in this area.
Soldiers of the 93rd Brigade near Bakhmut target latest Russian self-propelled artillery system
Soldiers of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade near Bakhmut destroyed the latest Russian 2S40 Floks self-propelled artillery system. This was reported by volunteer Serhiy Sternenko.
"In October 23, the Russian forces adopted a new development - the Ural-based artillery and mortar system Floks. They produced a couple of units, nicknamed it the "Russian Archer" and proudly sent it to the front. The day after it was sent, it was already hit in the Kherson region by an FPV-drone. And the other day, near Bakhmut, the soldiers of the 93rd Brigade destroyed a 2S40 Floks with a drone!" Sternenko wrote on his Telegram channel and called for donations for drones.
A few hours later, Sternenko shared the news that the soldiers of the 14th Charon Group had destroyed two enemy Tor missile systems worth approximately $24 million each with a drone. First, they destroyed one Tor with the help of an FPV drone, and when another drone arrived to record the results, it turned out that there was another similar SAM, so the second drone hit it.
Ukraine received about $9 billion from partners in March
In March 2024, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine received about $9 billion in external financing from international partners, the Ministry of Finance reports.
In particular, concessional financing was provided by the European Union ($4.9 billion), Canada ($1.5 billion), Japan ($1.1 billion), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) ($880 million) and the United Kingdom ($515 million).
The Ministry of Finance clarified that the EU funds were allocated to Ukraine as part of the first tranche of the new Ukraine Facility. At the same time, they are part of the €6 billion transitional financing.
"The Bridge financing mechanism allows meeting the urgent budget needs until the final approval of the Ukraine Plan for the Ukraine Facility," the statement said.
