"Such actions are a very strong element of hybrid warfare. It is an element of influence on both the enemy and the faith of those citizens who are waiting for the arrival of the Defense Forces and are in the temporarily occupied territory. It is really very difficult to be under occupation with pro-Ukrainian beliefs," emphasized Natalia Humeniuk.
In her opinion, such actions to support each other and influence the enemy's moral and psychological state are very important. Therefore, the Russian military no longer feels as confident in Crimea as it used to. In particular, due to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' targeted strikes on strategically important objects.
Hackers break into Russian space meteorology center
The BO Team hacker group paralyzed the computers and destroyed the data set of the Russian Space Meteorology Center Planeta, which provided Roshydromet, the Russian General Staff and the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry with satellite images.
According to Information Resistance, having quietly gained initial access to two of Planeta's servers, the hackers attacked all of its devices and services, resulting in the destruction of an unprecedented amount of information for such actions - a total of about 2 petabytes (approximately 2 million gigabytes) of data. Also, the operation of supercomputers with the LUSTRE file system, the estimated cost of which is USD 350,000, was paralyzed.
In total, the hackers destroyed more than 280 servers involved in the shared network. Several independent foreign experts estimate that the total cost of the lost information, given its uniqueness and the time it took to collect and summarize it, could be at least USD 10 million.
The hackers noted that even partial recovery of the destroyed data is impossible. As a result, dozens of strategic campaigns that work for the defense of the aggressor country and play a key role in supporting Russian troops will be left without critical information and services for quite some time.
