White House wants to give Ukraine billions from frozen Russian assets

The administration of US President Joe Biden supports a bill that proposes to confiscate part of the USD 300 billion in frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine's recovery. This was reported by the US news agency Bloomberg.

The White House has changed its position on the recovery of billions of dollars of frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine amid Congress' blocking of further financial assistance to the Armed Forces.

According to Bloomberg, Washington is seeking to coordinate this issue with its G7 allies, especially European ones. After all, there are about USD 200 billion of frozen Russian assets in Europe, but support for their seizure is low. According to the agency's source, this topic will be raised at a meeting of G7 leaders on the anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February.

Billion from Estonia, weapons from Latvia

Latvia has prepared a new aid package for Ukraine, which includes weapons and ammunition. This was stated by President Edgars Rinkēvičs during a joint press conference with Zelenskyy. He also reminded that the assistance provided by Latvia is more than 1% of the country's GDP and exceeds EUR 600 million. The new aid package will include howitzers, 155-mm ammunition, anti-tank weapons, missiles, all-terrain vehicles, grenades, helicopters, drones, communication devices, generators, and equipment.

The Latvian president also said that his country has committed itself to leading a coalition of drones within the framework of Ramstein and will sign memorandums of cooperation in the military sphere with Ukraine. This includes the production of drones.

Estonian President Alar Karis, also at a press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that his country would give Ukraine 0.25% of its defense budget in 2024-2027. From the beginning of a full-scale war until 2027, Tallinn's assistance will reach EUR 1.2 billion.

‘New Chornobaivka’ in Kharkiv region

Near the village of Synkivka, Kharkiv region, an area of destroyed Russian vehicles has formed. The Russian troops are advancing along the same road, constantly being defeated. This was reported by Colonel Volodymyr Fitio, head of the public relations service of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Near the village of Synkivka, where the fighting continues, the occupying Russian forces are advancing along the same road, using tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and infantry. They are being destroyed there repeatedly. There is already a vast area of burnt Russian equipment there. And we will observe whether they will continue to advance there," the colonel noted.

Fitio added that Ukrainian defenders repelled five Russian attacks in this sector yesterday. In the Lyman sector, the Defense Forces destroyed 141 soldiers, 50 pieces of equipment and captured several Russian soldiers.

Ukrainian partisans in Crimea

Ukrainian guerrillas have infiltrated and conducted reconnaissance at the airfield in the temporarily occupied Yevpatoria, where the invading Russian forces are repairing aircraft. This was reported by the Atesh guerrilla movement.

The following weapons were found on the territory of the airfield: 96K6 Pantsir surface-to-air missile system, several Be-12 and An-12 aircraft.

"According to the available information, some aircraft are being repaired at this facility. It has also been established that the entire territory is not constantly guarded," the statement said.

The guerrillas also published the coordinates of the airfield.
