Ukrainian banks to receive up to €30 million to support business
The European Investment Bank will provide up to €30 million to support small and medium-sized Ukrainian businesses. This was announced by Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to Denys Shmyhal, on April 10, a decision was made to allow two Ukrainian banks to receive this assistance. The funds will be used to support small and medium-sized businesses by improving the terms of preferential lending.
"We appreciate the support of our European partners in all areas. Since the beginning of this year, the EU's budget support has already amounted to $6.5 billion," Shmyhal added.
Drones attack Russian refinery in Kaluga region
On the night of May 10, drones attacked a refinery in the Kaluga region. The Russian Defense Ministry reported the downing of 5 UAVs, while the media reported a DIU operation that led to a fire at the Pervyi Zavod refinery.
"A fire broke out on the territory of the Pervyi Zavod refinery in the Kaluga region due to a drone crash. Three diesel tanks and a fuel oil tank are on fire," local Telegram channels reported.
According to local residents, at first they heard the hum of a UAV, followed by explosions and a fire in the area of the local Pervyi Zavod.
Ukraine's Air Force gets first full-fledged F-16 simulator
The Czech Republic has handed over the first F-16 fighter jet simulator to a tactical aviation brigade of the Air Force. Its main module is already being tested and prepared for operation by Ukrainian specialists. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force Command.
"I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine strengthen its aviation component. Of course, in addition to the F-16s themselves, we need to create a powerful training and material base for our youth. I call on our allies to join this initiative," said Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk.
Russian Black Sea Fleet's losses from maritime drone attack are estimated at $500
Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, said during the telethon that according to preliminary estimates, the losses for the Black Sea Fleet of the aggressor country, Russia, due to the actions of Magura drones amount to about $500 million.
"As of now, the aggressor's Black Sea Fleet has suffered more than $500 million in losses as a result of effective actions of the DIU special forces using Magura drones," Yusov said during the telethon.
Ukraine's Defense Ministry authorizes use of 9 Ukrainian robotic systems
Since the beginning of 2024, experts of the Ukrainian Defense have codified and authorized 9 Ukrainian-made ground robotic systems for use in the Ukrainian Defense Forces. This was announced by Colonel Volodymyr Rochniak.
"The role of unmanned systems on the battlefield is increasing, today they perform a wide range of tasks, gradually minimizing the presence of humans on the front line. Many domestic manufacturers are now focused on the production of robotic systems to enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and save the lives of our soldiers," he said.
Since the beginning of 2024 alone, 9 ground robotic systems created by Ukrainian weapons manufacturers have been codified.
Unmanned platforms on the battlefield carry a weapon system that allows soldiers to fire remotely. There are also robots for evacuating the wounded from the battlefield, performing logistics tasks, mining and demining.
