US will be forced to fight with Russia — political analyst Piontkovsky

Political analyst Andrey Piontkovsky believes the US will be forced to fight with Russia in Europe if aid to Ukraine is stopped and Putin succeeds in the war

He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.

"We saw Europe's reaction on our most difficult day in Washington, December 12, when Zelenskyy's visit failed to persuade the US Congress to sign the bill, and it caused a very powerful reaction in Europe, a series of important statements and steps, the approval of aid packages to Ukraine. Not to mention Orbán, we know very well that the $50 billion project was approved. And the politically significant invitation to start accession negotiations with the EU for a country at war is unprecedented. And the additional financial aid packages provided by the Nordic countries and the acceleration of the process of transferring planes by the Nordic countries," explained Piontkovsky.

The political scientist emphasized that if Putin succeeds in Ukraine, the United States will be forced to deploy its troops to Europe.

“And criticism, serious criticism of American hesitations and delays. For example, in a sharp statement by the foreign ministers of France and Great Britain. There are concerns in Europe. In Europe, they have taken the warning very seriously. The American administration, trying to secure approval of this financial plan, warned very clearly that refusal would lead to war. I remember Austin sitting at the table and saying that he is now forced to consider plans to deploy American soldiers to Europe because in case of funding refusal and Putin's success, the US will have to fight with the Russians. He failed to convince hesitant members of the chamber, but it made a huge impression on the Europeans; Europe has now sharply increased its political support for Ukraine," he added.
