U.S. delegation to visit Ukraine in September to advance rare earth minerals deal — economy minister

Ukraine's Economy Minister Oleksii Sobolev announced this during the presentation of the government’s Action Plan, Espreso correspondent reported.

According to him, the first projects under the agreement have already received funding, while several draft laws are before parliament to encourage large-scale investment.

“There is also a program to auction off more licenses that can feed into this fund and attract additional investment. Work on the fund is ongoing every week,” Sobolev said.

He added that in September, the fund’s council will meet to formalize its first practical decisions on launching operations.

“We are now drafting a list of investment projects that the fund may support over the next 12 months. A large U.S. delegation will come in September, traveling across Ukraine to examine such projects. We hope the fund’s first investments with the U.S. will be clear this year,” the minister noted.
