“Today a Russian drone strike hit an IAEA vehicle near Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. The team, which survived, was there to ensure nuclear safety amid Russia’s takeover of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant. We condemn such attacks which endanger global nuclear safety,” Brink emphasized.
- On December 10, a drone struck and severely damaged an IAEA vehicle en route to the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
- Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko initiated an emergency meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors on December 12 in Vienna following the Russian drone strike on an IAEA vehicle.
