Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal reported the information.

He said that the new mechanism will operate through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, which involves compiling a list of equipment and ammunition based on Ukraine's requests, as confirmed by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR).

The new mechanism is designed to ensure the rapid delivery of systems and weapons to Ukraine, which can be obtained in large quantities from the U.S., with the aim of strengthening Ukraine's position and creating conditions for achieving a just and lasting peace.

“This initiative is being implemented within the framework of agreements between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, U.S. President Donald Trump, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Thanks to the new mechanism, Alliance member states and partners will be able to finance the supply of American weapons and technologies through voluntary contributions,” the statement said.

Deliveries under the mechanism will be coordinated by NATO, with new aid packages to be announced on a regular basis.

“The Netherlands has undertaken to finance the first aid package worth €500 million, and arms deliveries are expected to take place soon. New important announcements are also expected in the near future,” Shmyhal added.

  • Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced a military aid package for Ukraine valued at €500 million, which includes missiles and components for the Patriot system.
