Defense Express reported the information.

Ukrainian open-source intelligence analysts released commercial satellite pictures showing the aftermath of a precision strike carried out during the night of 1–2 August. The images document:

  • Three destroyed storage hangars that housed Iranian-made Shahed loitering munitions.

  • Heavy fire damage across multiple points of the base and unusual vehicle activity near at least one drone launch site.

  • Significant hits on a weapons preparation complex belonging to Russia’s tactical aviation regiment stationed there.

Primorsko-Akhtarsk, located in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai about 230 km from the front line and guarded by an S-400 air-defense battery, had eight fixed launch racks and the capacity to fire up to 25 Shaheds in a single wave. Analysts describe the strike as “operationally successful,” noting that while it will not halt drone attacks entirely, it could reduce their frequency or delay upcoming salvos.

The airfield is one of several identified Russian “droneports.” Other confirmed launch sites include facilities near Tsymbulovo in the Oryol region and Navlya in the Bryansk region, with additional, harder-to-detect positions on occupied Crimea.

  • On the night of August 2, Russians reported explosions in several cities across Russia and Crimea as a result of drone attacks. Fires broke out, including at critical and military infrastructure facilities.
