Ukrainian government allows civilians to shoot occupying Russian forces with declared weapons
The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has granted civilians the right to use declared firearms to deter the armed aggression of the Russian Federation or other states against Ukraine

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The adopted resolution, in line with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine," amends paragraph 4 of the Procedure for the Use of Firearms by Civilians in the Context of Repelling and Deterring Armed Aggression by the Russian Federation and/or Other States against Ukraine during Martial Law.
"The updated Procedure grants civilians the right to use firearms, as established under the Law of Ukraine 'On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine,'" the statement reads.
- On Tuesday, August 20, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine”.
