Ukraine's Foreign Ministry responds to Fico on territorial concessions to Russia

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that the only way to end Russia's war against Ukraine is to give part of Ukraine's territory to the invaders.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko commented on the latest statements by the Slovak prime minister.

"There can be no compromise on territorial integrity, neither for Ukraine nor for Slovakia or any other country," Nikolenko stated.

He added that Ukraine and its partners are making efforts to remove Russians from Crimea, Donbas, and Luhansk, ensuring they do not advance further, including regions like Košice, Presov, and other Slovak regions.

"Let's speak openly: without security in Ukraine, there will be no security in Slovakia or Europe as a whole. We must, through joint efforts, bring the Ukrainian victory closer," noted the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico plans to meet with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. Fico controversially stated his intention to block Ukraine's NATO accession, suggesting a compromise involving Ukraine ceding territory to Russia. He emphasized that Russia's war against Ukraine “has no military solution”.
