
Ukrainian forces stop Russian army on Sumy border, no Russian advance in Dnipropetrovsk
President Zelenskyy confirms Ukrainian troops halted Russian forces on Sumy border and regained control of Andriivka amid ongoing battles in Luhansk and Donetsk
On the border of Sumy region, the enemy was stopped; no Russian advance recorded in Dnipropetrovsk, says Zelenskyy.
President Zelenskyy reported that Ukrainian troops are holding positions on the northeastern front, stopped Russian army on the border with Sumy region, regained control over Andriivka, and are holding back Russian offensives in Luhansk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
He said this during a press conference on June 13, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.
Zelenskyy provided an update on the situation on the northeastern directions of the front. According to him, in the South Sloboda direction, particularly in the Kupiansk and Kharkiv areas, no position losses have been recorded in the past week.
On the North Sloboda direction, which covers the border areas of Sumy region, the president emphasized that the enemy was stopped. The most intense fighting continues in the areas of Andriivka, Kindrativka, Oleksiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Yunakivka.
“We are leveling the position. What is important: there are 53,000 Russians there. The battles are along the border. You should understand that the enemy is stopped there. And the maximum depth where battles take place is 7 km from the border,” Zelenskyy noted, adding that Ukrainian forces regained control over Andriivka on June 14.
In the Luhansk direction, according to the president, the situation has stabilized, and near Kostiantynivka Ukrainian units are gradually advancing along a key route.
Fighting continues in the Dnipropetrovsk region as well, but no advance by Russian forces has been recorded.
- As of June 14, the Russian army advanced in Donetsk region toward Kostiantynivka and the border with Dnipropetrovsk. At the same time, Defense Forces pushed back the occupiers in one area near the border with Dnipropetrovsk region.
