Ukrainian forces clear Russian troops from six settlements in Donetsk, General Staff says
Over the past two weeks, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have cleared 6 settlements in Donetsk region from Russian troops. Russia has irretrievably lost 984 soldiers

Ukraine’s General Staff reported the information.
“From August 4 to 17, as a result of joint operations by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the National Guard, including the 1st Azov Corps, the following settlements in Donetsk region were cleared: Hruzke, Rubizhne, Novovodiane, Petrivka, Vesele, and Zolotyi Kolodiaz,” the military stated.
Overall, since the start of active combat operations in the area, Russian forces have suffered significant losses. As of August 17, these include:
- Irrecoverable personnel losses: 984
- Sanitary (wounded) personnel losses: 355
- Captured personnel: 37
Stabilization measures are also ongoing in the Dobropillia direction.
- Earlier reports indicated that the situation in the Pokrovsk area has stabilized, with Russian forces unable to spread across the entire sector.
