The command’s press service reported the information.

“Russian troops are not in Myrnohrad. The situation in the city and its surroundings is fully controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The spokesperson of the Operational Command East misspoke in yesterday’s comment on the National Telethon, referring to the situation in Pokrovsk,” the statement said.

The day before, Captain Hryhorii Shapoval, spokesperson for the communications department of the Operational Command East, said during the telethon that Russian troops had reached the outskirts of Myrnohrad along the Pokrovsk direction and that heavy street fighting was ongoing in the city.

Shapoval explained that Russian troops used not only artillery and drones but also infantry with equipment, which significantly complicated the situation on that section of the front.

“They are using not only artillery and drones, but also infantry and technical means, making the situation extremely difficult. Ukraine’s Defense Forces are trying to hold positions, building fortifications, but the situation is quite severe, and heavy street fighting is ongoing, which also involves the use of specific systems,” Shapoval said on the telethon.
