Ukrainian forces achieve tactical gains in Russia’s Belgorod region — military expert

"Regarding the situation on the territory of the occupying country, particularly in the Belgorod and Kursk regions, we are seeing tactical successes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The invaders are forced to admit the fact that in the Belgorod region, Ukrainian troops are conducting a series of successful counterattacks in the directions of the settlements of Popivka–Hrafivka, as well as in areas of fierce fighting near Demydivka," Sniehyrov noted.  

According to the military expert, Ukraine is not stopping its efforts to expand the zone of presence of the Defense Forces on Russian territory.  

"The main goals are political pressure on Russia, as well as diverting operational reserves, particularly from the Kursk direction, and blocking the possibility of expanding the line of combat engagement by the operational-tactical group Belgorod, which operates in the interests of the aggressor country in the Sumy and Kharkiv directions," Sniehyrov explained.  

The expert added that heavy fighting continues in the Kursk region, but there are also positive results.  

"The Ukrainian Defense Forces delivered a targeted strike on locations where UAV operators were concentrated. As a result, 20 operators were eliminated. This is a significant blow to the enemy's capabilities, especially considering that in this direction, the Russians are massively using FPV drones with fiber optics. Accordingly, this will significantly reduce the intensity of attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces using such means of destruction," Sniehyrov emphasized.

• The Ukrainian Air Force struck the location in the Kursk region from which the Russian troops were launching strike UAVs.
