
Ukrainian forces strike Russian base in Kursk region, involved in missile attack on Sumy
The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the permanent deployment point of Russia’s 448th Missile Brigade in the Kursk region — the unit that launched a missile attack on Sumy on April 13
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces, and the Security Service of Ukraine, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, targeted several facilities in Russia’s Kursk region connected to war criminals involved in the missile strike on the city of Sumy on April 13, 2025, as well as other war crimes against the Ukrainian people," the statement reads.
At the deployment site of the 448th Missile Brigade, secondary detonation of ammunition was recorded. The results of the strike are still being clarified.
"Every Russian military unit, subdivision, and serviceman involved in shelling peaceful cities and civilians in Ukraine will be identified and will inevitably be held accountable. Targeted and systematic operations against key Russian military facilities will continue until Russia’s armed aggression against our country is stopped," the General Staff emphasized.
- According to updated information, as of Tuesday, April 15, the number of casualties from the Russian army's missile strike on central Sumy on April 13 has risen to 125.
