Ukrainian forces repel 41 Russian attacks in Pokrovsk sector

Since the start of January 22, 67 clashes have taken place along the Russian-Ukrainian frontline

Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 41 Russian attacks on the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in their 4:00 PM update.

Russian army launched assaults on several frontline sectors. 

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces carried out four attacks near Lozova, Zahryzove, and Petropavlivka, with two clashes still ongoing. 

In the Lyman direction, the Russian troops attacked five times near Pershotravneve, Novosergiivka, Zelena Dolyna, Kuzmyne, and towards the Serebriansky Forest, with one clash still raging.

Ukrainian forces are repelling two Russian attacks near Chasiv Yar on the Kramatorsk direction, while the enemy also conducted an airstrike using guided bombs on Bondarne. Near Toretsk, eight Russian attacks were recorded.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian occupation army attempted 44 assaults to push Ukrainian forces from their positions near settlements such as Zelene Pole, Myrolyubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysiivka, Pershe Travnia, Zvyrove, Pokrovsk, Novosergiivka, Kotlyne, Andriivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne. Ukrainian defenders repelled 41 attacks, while three clashes are still ongoing.

The Russian army also made five attacks near Kostyantynopil and Vremivka in the Novopavlivka direction. Four clashes have been repelled, and one is ongoing. 

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled one enemy attack.

In the Kursk operational zone, Ukrainian forces repelled three attacks by Russian forces, with another three battles still ongoing. The enemy carried out about 200 shellings, including four using multiple rocket launchers.

In the Kharkiv, Siversk, Orikhiv, and Huliaipole directions, no offensive actions by the Russian army were recorded. The situation on other parts of the frontline remains unchanged.

  • During the day, Russian occupation forces in Ukraine lost 1,950 personnel. The Defense Forces also destroyed Russian equipment, including 11 Russian tanks.
