Ukrainian forces strike S-300 air defense system in Russia's Rostov region overnight
On the night of August 21, the Ukrainian military struck a position of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system near the village of Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov region, Russia.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Units of the Ukrainian Navy in cooperation with other units of the Defence Forces took part in the attack. The military struck at the position of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system in Rostov region.
"According to the results of objective control, explosions were observed at the designated targeting points. The accuracy of the strike is being investigated," the statement said.
According to the General Staff, Russian forces use S-300 systems, in particular, to strike at peaceful cities of Ukraine, destroying residential buildings and terrorising the civilian population.
- On the night of August 21, the Russians reported what they claim to be the largest drone attack on the Moscow region to date. According to their statements, 10 drones were allegedly shot down.
