Ukrainian army repels 22 Russian attacks overnight, targets 14 Russian military clusters - General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on April 3.

Russian attacks across Ukraine 

In total, Russia launched 5 missiles and 50 air strikes, fired 37 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

Frontline situation 

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. There are no signs of enemy offensive groups forming.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled one enemy attack near Andriivka, Luhansk region. Russian enemy launched air strikes in the vicinity of Holubivka, Kupyansk, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kalynove and Borova in Kharkiv region. About 15 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three enemy attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops. More than 10 localities suffered from artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 10 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Spirne, Andriivka, southeast of Vyymka and Klishchiivka, Donetsk region, where Russian enemy was trying to improve its tactical position. Russia conducted air strikes near Chasiv Yar, Toretsk and Druzhba in the Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight attacks near Berdychi, Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk region, where Russia tried to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions. The enemy launched air strikes near the settlements of Keramik and Semenivka in Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back Russian enemy in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka and Urozhayne, where Russia, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops 15 times. The enemy also carried out air strikes near Krasnohorivka, Vodiane and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions during the day, however, they conducted air strikes in the areas of Staromayorske in Donetsk region; Malynivka, Orikhiv and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson direction, Russia does not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units from the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, four attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops were made over the last day. Krynky, Kherson region, came under enemy artillery fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 14 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and a Russian anti-aircraft missile system.

Missile troops struck 2 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, an artillery system, a radar station, an electronic warfare station and an enemy UAV control point.

• There were 62 combat engagements in the frontline on April 2. The enemy attempted to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 40 times in six directions. 18 of them took place in Novopavlivka direction.
