Ukrainian Armed Forces repel 62 Russian attacks in six sectors - General Staff

Russia's attacks on Ukraine

In total, the enemy launched 1 missile and 79 air strikes, fired 52 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian attacks resulted in civilian casualties. Multi-storey and private buildings, as well as other civilian infrastructure, were destroyed and damaged.

Situation in the key frontline areas

Over the last day, 95 combat engagements took place. The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

In the northern areas of Ukraine bordering Belarus, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No signs of the formation of offensive groups were detected. Certain units of the Belarusian armed forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In the northeast, where Ukraine borders the Russian Federation, the enemy maintains a military presence, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from Russia's territory, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. About 30 settlements of Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian defenders fended off two attacks near Tabaivka, Kharkiv region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Sinkivka, Petropavlivka, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled three attacks near Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Rozdolivka, Donetsk region. Russia launched an air strike near the village of Izium in Kharkiv region. More than 10 localities in Luhansk and Donetsk regions suffered from Russian artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces beat back 17 attacks in the areas of Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka in Donetsk region, where the enemy was trying to improve its tactical position. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, the Ukrainian army deterred 22 attacks near Avdiivka and another 16 attacks south of Tonenke, near Pervomayske and Nevelske in Donetsk region. Russia, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the Ukrainian defense. About 20 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka sector, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders near Krasnohorivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Russian troops tried unsuccessfully to improve the tactical situation in this area 28 times.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled an attack north of Pryiutne, Zaporizhzhia region. Russian troops launched an air strike near Rivnopil, Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the Defense Forces defeated an attack near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, where the Russian troops, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops. 

In the Kherson sector, Russian forces are still trying to drive Ukrainian troops out of their bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the day, they made 1 unsuccessful attempt to storm Ukraine's positions. The city of Kherson came under artillery fire. The enemy launched air strikes near the settlements of Kachkarivka and Monastyrske in the Kherson region.

Missile troops struck 1 area of personnel concentration, 2 control points, 1 artillery unit, and 2 enemy ammunition depots.
