210 combat clashes occur at Russian-Ukrainian frontline over last day - Ukraine's General Staff

Over the past day, October 17, 210 combat clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front

This was reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.

 

“According to the updated information, yesterday Russia launched 62 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, in particular, having dropped 113 KABs. In addition, it carried out more than 4,060 attacks, including 125 from multiple launch rocket systems and engaged about 1,450 kamikaze drones,” the statement said.
 

The General Staff added that over the past day, Ukraine's aviation, missile forces and artillery hit 20 Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment concentrations and one other important Russian target.

Situation in the main sectors

In the Kharkiv direction, Russia unsuccessfully attacked seven times near Vovchansk and Starytsia.
 

In the Kupyansk direction, 19 attacks took place over the day. Ukrainian defense forces repelled assaults near 6 settlements.

 

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked 21 times. They tried to penetrate the Ukrainian defense near 10 settlements.

 

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attacked eight times near Hryhorivka, Minkivka, Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske.

 

In the Toretsk direction, Russia launched eight attacks in the direction of Toretsk, Nelipivka and near Shcherbynivka.

 

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 50 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor near 7 settlements. The highest concentration of Russian attacks was near the settlements of Promin and Selydove.

 

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 47 attacks. Russian troops were most actively trying to advance near Katerynivka, Antonivka and Heorhiivka. In addition, they attacked near 8 more settlements.

 

In the Vremivka direction, Russia launched 11 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Vuhledar and Levadne.
 

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders rebuffed a Russian attack near Novoandriivka.
 

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the invading Russian army tried unsuccessfully five times to force the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces out of their positions.

 

The operation in the Kursk region continues.

 

“The enemy's aviation continues to raze its villages and towns to the ground. Over the past day, Russian aircraft launched 31 air strikes with 58 KABs on their own territory,” the General Staff noted.
 

No signs of Russian offensive groups formation were detected on the border with Belarus.
 

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russia is actively using artillery and aviation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements from its  territory.

 

  • Over the past 24 hours, the Russian occupation army lost 1,530 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 13 Russian tanks and 48 drones.
