This was stated at a briefing by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhiy Tykhyi, reports Ukrinform.
According to him, these two countries have influence over Russia and should use it.
"China and Brazil have consistently supported the idea of a ceasefire. They made statements about this several years ago, and therefore we would like to see more of their support because they have influence over Russia.
We would like them to join in convincing the Russian leader that we need a full ceasefire. Not just something for show for 30 days, 60, or 90 days. We are ready for all that. Therefore, we want them to use their significant voice in the dialogue with Russia. We have to start somewhere," said the diplomat.
- On May 16, a trilateral meeting of the delegations of Ukraine, the United States, and Turkey took place in Istanbul. After that, negotiations between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine were held. According to Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, issues discussed included a prisoner exchange on a 1,000 for 1,000 basis, a ceasefire, and a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin.
