Ukraine using about 20% of U.S. weapons: expert analyzes Trump’s potential ultimatum
Director of the Center for International Studies Volodymyr Dubovyk says that Americans need to understand: there are conditions Ukraine will not agree to
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“Indeed, the U.S. support is currently limited. We continue to supply weapons for money left over from the previous administration, but these resources will run out sooner or later. There is no talk of a new tranche or a large package of aid to Ukraine,” Dubovyk reminded.
According to the director of the Center for International Studies, the United States is currently providing Ukraine with intelligence and satellite imagery, which is important for military operations, but this assistance has its limitations. Ukraine receives about 20% of the weapons from the Americans that are used at the front. The rest are European and Ukrainian weapons.
“So, the U.S. assistance is really limited. If, and it is quite likely, an ultimatum comes from Trump, we will have to choose whether to accept it for the sake of uncertain American support or reject it. The Americans must also realize that there are conditions that Ukraine will not accept. This could undermine their plan to sign a peace agreement and thwart Trump's plans to become the greatest peacemaker of our time,” Dubovyk emphasized.
