Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this following a meeting with Rustem Umerov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
A meeting with the Russian side in Turkey is planned for Wednesday, July 23.
"Today, I discussed with Rustem Umerov the preparations for the exchange and another meeting in Turkey with the Russian side. Umerov reported that the meeting is planned for Wednesday," Zelenskyy said in his evening address on Monday.
He announced more details on Tuesday.
Earlier, İndependent Türkçe reported the information, citing diplomatic sources.
“The Russian and Ukrainian delegations are expected to meet in Istanbul this week. It was stated that the meetings may take place on Wednesday or Thursday,” the article says.
The Russian propaganda agency TASS reported, citing a source, that a new round of negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow is expected to take place in Istanbul at the end of this week.
