Ukraine returns bodies of 909 fallen defenders
On April 18, 2024, as part of repatriation efforts, the bodies of 909 fallen soldiers of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were returned to Ukraine

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported the information on Telegram.
The fallen were returned from:
- Kurakhove sector
- Pokrovsk sector
- Bakhmut sector
- Vuhledar sector
- Luhansk sector
- Zaporizhzhia sector
- Sumy sector
- Kharkiv sector
- Morgues in the territory of the Russian Federation.
The staff expressed gratitude for the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
"Special thanks to the personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who transport the repatriated fallen Heroes to designated state specialized institutions, organize the transfer of the deceased to law enforcement representatives in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system and forensic examination in the Ministry of Health system. Law enforcement investigators, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will promptly identify the deceased," they concluded.
