Ukraine returns bodies of 254 fallen defenders
On Friday, June 14, Ukraine managed to return 254 fallen soldiers of the Armed Forces
The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reports.
As a result of repatriation measures, Ukraine returned 254 fallen defenders, in particular:
- 221 defenders fought in the Donetsk direction,
- 25 - in the Zaporizhzhia direction,
- 4 - in the Luhansk direction,
- 4 were returned from morgues in the Russian Federation.
The bodies were repatriated with the assistance of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Ministry of Reintegration, the Commissioner for Missing Persons in cooperation with the Joint Center at the Security Service of Ukraine, the Central Military Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other law enforcement agencies, departments and international organizations.
Russia receives bodies of 32 fallen invaders
According to the I Want to Find project, Russia has returned the bodies of 32 fallen soldiers who fought on the territory of Ukraine.
"The first repatriation of bodies and remains between Ukraine and Russia took place this month. 32 bodies of Russian servicemen who were killed in Ukraine and found by search groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were handed over to the Russian side," the statement says.
Most of the bodies and remains of the Russian invades were found in the Lyman direction and near the village of Pervomaiske, Kharkiv region.
- On May 31, as a result of repatriation measures, the bodies of 212 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine.
