Ukraine reports 82 frontline clashes, one-third near Pokrovsk
Ukraine’s military reported 82 combat clashes along the frontlines on Sunday, September 21, with the heaviest fighting around Pokrovsk, Lyman and Kupiansk
According to the General Staff, Russian forces shelled border settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv regions from inside Russia.
In the Sumy and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian troops repelled three assaults, with one battle continuing, while Russian forces carried out seven airstrikes, 17 guided bomb attacks, and 102 artillery strikes, including 10 from multiple rocket systems.
In the Kharkiv sector, Ukrainian forces beat back two assaults, with five clashes ongoing near Vovchansk and Odradne.
In the Kupiansk sector, six Russian offensives were stopped.
The Lyman sector saw 12 clashes near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Kolodyazi, Torske, and Novoselivka, with seven battles still underway.
No combat was reported in the Siversk and Kramatorsk sectors.
In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops launched eight assaults, while airstrikes hit the nearby city of Kostiantynivka.
The Pokrovsk sector saw 28 separate clashes, and fighting continues in several areas.
Further south, Russian forces attempted 12 advances near settlements in the Novopavlivka sector, while Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks in Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors.
Airstrikes were also reported in the Prydniprovskyi sector, hitting Inhulets and Odradokamyanka.
