Ukraine reports 199 clashes at frontline, repels 64 Russian attacks in Pokrovsk sector

Over the past day, May 1, 199 combat clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Ukrainian defenders repelled 64 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff stated this in its report as of 08:00 a.m.

"Yesterday, Russian forces launched three missile strikes and 96 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, using five missiles and 172 guided bombs. In addition, the Russians fired 5,898 times, including 61 times from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,991 kamikaze drones," the General Staff reported.

They added that yesterday, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck six Russian manpower and weapons concentrations, one UAV control point, and two air defense systems.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, eight combat clashes took place over the past day near Vovchansk, Kamianka, Topoli, and toward Novovasylivka and Lyptsi.

In the Kupiansk sector, five Russian attacks were recorded. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled assaults near Novoosynove, Hlushkivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, and Zahryzove.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops launched 27 attacks, trying to advance near Nadiya, Yampolivka, Kolodiazi, and toward Hrekivka, Torske, Ridkodub, and Zelena Dolyna.

In the Siversk sector, Russian forces attacked toward Verkhniokamianske and Hryhorivka — four combat clashes took place in total.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled six Russian assaults near Chasiv Yar, Novomarkove, and toward Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops launched four attacks near Shcherbynivka, Druzhba, and toward Dyliivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 64 Russian attacks near Zvirove, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Vodiane Druhe, Oleksandropil, Malynivka, Lysivka, Dachenske, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Nadiyivka, Novooleksandrivka, Kotliarivka, Troitske, Andriivka, and toward Pokrovsk, Romanivka, Stara Mykolaivka, Nova Poltavka, Myroliubivka, Bahatyr, and Oleksiivka.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 15 Russian assaults near Kostiantynopil, Novosilka, Pryvilne, Vilne Pole, and toward Bahatyr and Shevchenko.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces did not conduct any offensive actions during the past day.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russian troops launched four unsuccessful attacks near Lobkove, Kamianske, and Stepove.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian forces carried out one failed attack on Ukrainian positions.

In the Kursk region, 33 combat clashes occurred. Russian forces laucnhed 210 artillery attacks, including five MLRS attacks. In addition, they carried out 15 air strikes and dropped 21 guided bombs.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

  • Over the past day, the occupying Russian army lost another 1,110 troops and hundreds of pieces of equipment and weapons at the front.
