Ukraine reports 101 clashes at front on Mar. 8, repels 12 Russian attacks in Kursk region

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff stated this in its report as of 4:00 p.m.

Russian troops continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders, the ministry emphasized.

In total, 101 combat clashes have occurred since the beginning of the day.

14 border settlements were hit by Russian airstrikes.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three attacks near Vovchansk and Petro-Ivanivka, with two clashes still ongoing. The Russians carried out airstrikes on Dovzhyk.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces launched seven attacks near Stepova Novoselivka, Nova Kruhlyakivka, and Zahryzove. Two clashes are still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Russian invaders attacked 14 times near Novomykhailivka, Nove, Myrnyi, and Zelena Dolyna. Eight clashes are still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops attacked 15 times near Druzhba and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the beginning of the day, Russian invaders have made 14 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Andriivka, Oleksandropil, Pokrovsk, Serhiivka, Novooleksandrivka, Bohdanivka, Zelenyi Kut, and Ulakly. The Defense Forces have withstood Russian troops’ pressure, repelling 12 attacks, with two clashes still ongoing. The Russian army also carried out an airstrike near the settlement of Leontovychi.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Russians attacked five times near Kostiantynopil and Burlatske. Two clashes are still ongoing.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian invaders launched two attacks towards Storozhove and Charivne. Additionally, the Russians carried out airstrikes on Huliaipole, Voskresenka, Novopole, and Zaliznychne.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian assaults towards the settlements of Piatykhatky, Stepove, and Shcherbaky.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian troops carried out an airstrike on the settlement of Kozatske and two missile strikes, likely with Iskander-M missiles, on the areas of Novoselivka and Bila Krynytsia.

In the Siversk sector, Russian forces did not conduct any offensive operations.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 Russian attacks, with 14 clashes still ongoing. Since the beginning of the day, the Russians have carried out 23 airstrikes, dropping 33 guided bombs on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, and fired 362 times, including 30 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

The situation has not significantly changed on other fronts.
