Ukraine needs more attack aircraft for war with Russia - Ukraine's top general
Ukraine needs more military aircraft to fight Russia, including American A-10 attack aircraft to support infantry, and long-range missiles
Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi stated this.
"I would talk about the A-10 as an option if they are given to us... it is not a new aircraft, but a reliable one that has proven itself in many wars and has a wide range of weapons to hit ground targets to help the infantry," he said.
According to him, the A-10 will provide crucial support to ground forces as they try to seize the initiative on the frontline.
"This is to destroy ground targets: tanks, artillery... everything that counteracts the infantry," said Syrskyi, adding that attack helicopters, including AH-64 Apache and AH-1 Super Cobra, as well as UH-60 Black Hawk, can also play an important role.
For reference. The A-10 Thunderbolt is a subsonic attack aircraft manufactured in the United States that has been in service since the 1970s.

Estonian intelligence suggested that Russia's intensified missile attacks on targets in Ukraine indicate that Moscow considers the appearance of F-16 fighters in Ukraine dangerous.
