In early May, Ukraine's Defense Forces significantly increased the number of destroyed Russian command posts, suggesting a potential rise in available weaponry, including ballistic missiles

Defense Express development director Valerii Riabykh said this on Espreso TV.

"We can state that very interesting events are taking place on the battlefield. The Defense Forces have definitely increased their ability to strike at the Russian forces. In particular, at the beginning of May, there was an increase in the number of destroyed enemy command posts. Also, this includes the successful operation to destroy the Iskander complex division in the amount of 3 units. All this indicates that Ukraine has received all the necessary elements for such strikes. In addition to the fact that we have connected all the elements using the Link system for F-16 aircraft," Riabykh explained.

The expert added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have probably been attacking enemy targets with ballistic missiles for a year. After all, many experts and analysts could not from time to time identify the means of destruction with which the enemy target was destroyed.

"Also, the Defense Forces could have received new elements of destruction. In particular, their own ballistic system. This system, judging by everything, is already undergoing real testing in combat conditions. We are talking about either the beginning of serial production, or it is just beginning. So we can say that the Ukrainian ballistic missile is already on the way. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly stated this. A number of signs also indicated this. Including when, during the year, experts could not accurately indicate what exactly managed to hit the target on the territory of the enemy. This indicates that these tests took place in real combat conditions," he summed up.

  • The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced on August 27, 2024, that Ukraine had successfully tested the first ballistic missile of its own production.

  • On June 6, military expert Valentyn Badrak stated that tests took place in mid-May, which are assessed as extremely successful: a ballistic missile traveled almost 300 km and destroyed a Russian command post.
