Ukraine's Air Force reported the information.
"On the morning of April 28, 2025, during the execution of a complex combat mission involving air support for troops and repelling an air attack by enemy strike UAVs, a Su-27 fighter jet of the Air Force was lost," the statement said.
The pilot successfully ejected and is not in any danger. A search and rescue team promptly arrived at the landing site and transported the pilot to a medical facility for evaluation.
A specially appointed commission is currently investigating the causes of the incident.
- Bohdan Dolintse, aviation expert and member of the public council at the State Aviation Service, noted that due to the lack of Western components, the production of military aircraft in Russia decreases annually.
