Ukraine needs elections, but war makes them impossible
Ukraine is ready for immediate elections once just peace is achieved, Zelenskyy’s aide says
The head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, stated that Ukraine is r toeady hold elections immediately after the war with Russia ends and a just peace is established

He said this in an interview with the Telegraph.
"Looking at the reality, President [Zelenskyy] said that after [a] just peace, we will be ready immediately to go to the proper democratic elections in our country," Yermak said.
According to him, President Zelenskyy is ready to hold elections "at any time."
At the same time, Yermak emphasized that the world should recognize these elections as democratic and meeting all standards: "It means that [it is] necessary that all citizens of Ukraine have the opportunity to vote, including our heroes, our soldiers [on the] frontline, including people who are temporarily leaving the country."
- Andriy Mahera, constitutional law expert at the Center of Policy and Legal Reform, explained that holding elections in Ukraine during martial law threatens to weaken the state's position both domestically and internationally.
