Ukraine foils Belarusian spy's attempt to infiltrate military intelligence
Employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate and investigators from the Ukrainian Security Service have exposed a spy from the Belarusian KGB who attempted to infiltrate one of the Ukrainian military intelligence units
The Main Intelligence Directorate reported the information.
As part of a special operation that lasted several months, SBU officers and HUR internal security documented the activities of the Belarusian spy and conducted an operational game with her—providing disinformation under the guise of secret data.
The agent had been working for the Belarusian KGB since 2015. In 2020, she was sent for intelligence work on Ukrainian territory. Her cover was journalistic activity—after working for Medvedchuk's sanctioned channel 112, the spy secured employment at one of Ukraine's leading media outlets.
Then, following her handler's orders, under the pretext of needing a medical examination, the woman traveled to one of the EU countries for additional briefing. From her handlers, she received the task of collecting information about Belarusians and Russians fighting against the aggressor state on Ukraine's side.
The Belarusian spy was also supposed to establish contacts with employees of the Chinese Embassy in Kyiv in order to gather information about the activities of Chinese diplomats in Ukraine.
After collecting evidence, the enemy agent was detained in Kyiv, and her smartphone and voice recorder, which she used to collect classified information, were confiscated.
The spy is currently in custody. She faces 15 years imprisonment with property confiscation.
According to Nasha Niva, the person in question is Inna Kardash, born in Minsk in 1991. It is known that she previously worked at United Company and Maxbet from 2012-2015. From 2015 to 2018, FSAN databases were empty, and in 2018-2019 she worked with Tutbaymedia.
