Ukraine destroys 20% of Russian Black Sea Fleet - media
Ukrainian forces have destroyed a fifth of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Before the full-scale invasion, it had at least 70 ships
This is reported by Bild.
According to Bild's open data analyst, in the spring of 2022, the Russian Black Sea Fleet had more than 70 ships, and Russian propaganda called it "invincible".
However, after the destruction of the Moskva cruiser, the fleet permanently withdrew from the shores of Ukraine, the publication writes.
It is noted that since then, 13 Russian ships and the Black Sea Fleet headquarters building have been destroyed on the open sea. In addition, the Main Intelligence Directorate's fighters recently attacked the Ivanovets missile boat.
According to expert Mattia Nelles, judging by the total tonnage of the ships, the fleet's losses have already reached 20%.
"Ukraine's successes against Putin's warships after 2022 illustrate the lack of modern technology and the unprofessionalism of sailors," said historian Jan Behrends of the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt am Oder.
- On the night of 31 January to 1 February, soldiers of the Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate Group 13 destroyed the Russian Black Sea Fleet's Ivanovets missile boat. The representative of the Main Intelligence Directoratee, Andriy Yusov, called the operation a serious result.
