Defense Express discussed the issue.

On the night of October 10, Russian forces carried out a large, concentrated attack aimed at destroying Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure, using a total of 497 long-range weapons, including:

  • 2 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, 1 intercepted – 50%
  • 14 ballistic missiles Iskander and/or KN-23, 4 intercepted – 28.5%
  • 12 cruise missiles Iskander, 9 intercepted – 75%
  • 4 guided missiles Kh-59 and/or Kh-69, 1 intercepted – 25%
  • 465 drones, about 200 strike types, the rest decoys; 405 neutralized – 87%

According to the report: “Direct hits were recorded from 13 missiles and 60 strike drones at 19 locations, and debris from downed missiles and drones fell at 7 locations.”

According to Ukraine’s largest private energy company DTEK, the Russians attacked thermal power plants, seriously damaging equipment at an unspecified number of plants. Emergency power outages have been implemented in certain regions while specialists work to restore electricity.

It should be noted that the Russian attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure on October 10, 2025, was not the largest in recent times.

Specifically, on the night of October 5, the Russians used 549 various weapons, including 496 drones, of which 88.5 percent were neutralized. On the night of September 28, 643 weapons were used, including 593 drones, with a neutralization rate of 95.4 percent.

  • On the night of October 10, Russia carried out a combined attack on Ukraine: a child was killed in Zaporizhzhia, and drone and missile debris damaged apartment buildings in Kyiv and surrounding areas.
