UK intelligence suggests new Russian strikes on critical facilities in Ukraine

Invading Russian army is likely to continue to strike at critical Ukrainian targets using long-range aircraft

The UK Ministry of Defense reports.

It has been suggested that the pause of strikes on Kyiv for more than 40 days indicates problems of command and planning. Sanctions may have limited Russia's ability to access key components for both aircraft and missiles. It may also have been hampered by the improved performance of Ukraine's air defense system.

“Russia will almost certainly continue strikes against critical locationsas aircraft, crews and weapon stocks allow, attempting to maintain pressure on the Ukrainian government and population via its stand-off strike capability,” the statement says.

In their view, this is a manifestation of a prolonged campaign in which tactical aviation, such as fighters and helicopters, continues to have a limited impact on the overall conflict.
