Russia sets monthly record with over 6,000 drones against Ukraine in July 2025 — UK intel
In July 2025, Russia launched about 6,200 'kamikaze' drones against Ukraine, which is a new monthly record – these actions are part of a tactic to exhaust Ukrainian air defense
The UK Defense Ministry reported the information.
The July figure surpassed June, when Russia launched about 5,600 drones over Ukraine.
Russian 'kamikaze' drones are still used alongside Russia’s most advanced missiles to boost strike effectiveness and complicate Ukraine’s air defense response.
July 2025 also set several daily records for Russian 'kamikaze' drone use, with large numbers of decoy drones deployed together with those carrying real warheads.
This has become a standard tactic in Russia’s strategy to exhaust Ukraine’s air force.
Meanwhile, Russian long-range bombers kept up their operational tempo, showing the fleet’s resilience and combat readiness after Ukraine’s Operation Spiderweb.
In July, seven long-range bomber strike groups were recorded, launching over 70 advanced munitions.
