Two-thirds of Ukrainians say Russia's goal is genocide, Ukraine's destruction — KIIS poll
A majority of Ukrainians—66%—believe Russia's goal is the destruction of Ukraine, physical genocide, and the elimination of Ukrainian statehood
The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology survey results show this.
Thus, 66% of Ukrainians believe that Russia's goal is still to destroy Ukraine: Russia wants to either commit physical genocide of Ukrainians (28%) or seize all/majority of Ukraine's territory and destroy the Ukrainian statehood and nation (38%).
At the same time, another 14% believe that Russia wants to seize all or most of the territory and install a puppet government. 7% think that Russia wants to seize the entire Donbas, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
“Thus, 87% of Ukrainians believe that Russia does not want to stop at the already occupied territories,” the report says.
Meanwhile, only 4% of Ukrainians believe that Russia only seeks to preserve the already occupied territories. And only 3% chose the option that Russia only wants to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine. The remaining 7% could not answer the question.
